Reflectance

I started a post last night and then managed to get myself distracted after about 5 lines. So I decided I would start from scratch today. I would just like to talk a little bit about the hand of the Lord in our lives. D&C 112:10 says, "Be thou humble and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand and give thee answers to thy prayers." I love that scripture; it has sort of been my motto over the last year. As I have taken the time over the past year, and especially the past semester, to ask and look for the hand of the Lord in my life, I have seen it. I have seen the happiness that can come through following the commandments. I have experienced the peace the Gospel offers in times of need. I have experienced comfort from the Lord's infinite atonement. I know that the Lord hears and answers our prayers, each and everyone of them. It may not be on our time frame, but it is in His, which is so much better in the long run. I know that after every rainy trial, there is a bright ray of sun-shining hope to follow it. The Lord has smiled down upon over the past few months, and I'll be the first to say I sure am grateful for it!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints just held its 179th semi-annual general conference.  This general conference was probably the best of my life.  I got to spend it with friends and family and was really able to enjoy the messages shared.  I wasn't diligent enough to take notes and share some awesome quotes with you, but know it was good, and if you are really curious go watch it on lds.org.  How lucky we are to be on the earth with the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In Doctrine and Covenants 20:9-11 it reads, "[The Book of Mormon] contains a record of the fallen people, and the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles and to the Jews also; Which was given by inspiration, and is confirmed to others by the administering of angels, and is declared unto the world by them.  Proving to the world that the holy scriptures are true, and that God does inspire men and call them to his holy work in this age and generation, as well as in generations of old."
Just to reiterate, "...that God does inspire men and call them to his holy work."  The men and women who spoke in General Conference were inspired of God.  Their words are modern day scriptures.  It is worth it, to take some time out of our lives and review these words, then implement them into our lives.
